Hello from Japan!
Hakone suffered heavy damage from the heavy rainfall in October due to the typhoon.
I hope this area will quickly recover from the damage!
Well, today I have learned in the news that the Hakone Ropeway cable car, which was not passable because of the volcanic activity, will be accessible on the 26/10/2019 again the whole route.
On the homepage of Hakone Ropeway was the following:
【Information on Operations in Some Sections】
Ubako Station and Togendai Station because of Owakudani remains off limits. As of October 16, 2019, the Hakone Ropeway continues to operate only in some sections between Ubako Station and Togendai Station. Bus service provided between Sounzan Station and Ubako Station as alternative transportation is therefore suspended for the time being.
* Owakudani remains off limits.
So it says here that the Hakone Ropeway will go all the way back, but that you can not get off at Owakudani.
But you can definitely go back by cable car. Hakone Tozandensha is not passable because of the typhoon .. About some details it is best to inquire locally in Hakone.
I just wanted to tell on this homepage, that the cable car will move again on Saturday!
